Athens Convention enters into force
01.06.18, Industry PolicyThe Athens Convention, relating to the carriage of passengers and their luggage by sea, entered into force on 23 April 2014. The Convention substantially raises the limits of liability for the death of, or personal injury to, a passenger on a ship.
The higher limits will amongst others apply to ships registered in Denmark and Norway. 15 other countries have also ratified the 2002 treaty.
